The Rise of the Divine Feminine
One might say that all of the discord that we commonly see and read about - environmental challenges, war, violence, greed, etc. - when viewed energetically and macrocosmically, may be seen as results of the imbalance and less-than-harmonious relationship between masculine and feminine influences. It is not that one is better or worse than the other. On the contrary, they are equally vital to the wellbeing of the whole. It is only when they are out of balance that things become discordant.
In many ways, returning to an awareness and honoring of the Divine Feminine might be seen as the underlying message of the entire Tao te Ching. For example:
Know the male,
yet keep to the female:
receive the world in your arms.
If you receive the world,
the Tao will never leave you
and you will be like a little child.
Know the white,
yet keep to the black:
be a pattern for the world.
If you are a pattern for the world,
the Tao will be strong inside you
and there will be nothing you can't do.
--a portion of verse 28 from the Stephen Mitchell translation
To ride this cosmic wave and help these energies to blossom forth into the world, honor the Divine Feminine. Let everything you do be an act of devotion to Her. If you are a woman, put your hands on your womb, breathe into it, and connect with your own divine creative and nurturing energy. Regardless of your gender, honor and express gratitude toward the women in your life, nature, and the nourishment you receive from others. Relax, breathe, and consciously enter into the earthy and sensual pleasures of life. Express kindness and nurturing, and allow yourself to accept kindness and nurturing.
You might also light a candle and/or create an altar to the Divine Feminine, in any form that feels powerful and sacred to you: perhaps Venus, Lakshmi, Mother Mary, Quan Yin, Isis, Gaia/Mother Nature, or all mothers everywhere.
